Workshop for Jazz Singers!! All Ages are welcome (15+ preferred. Younger singers will be considered on individual basis)   No prior experience required.   Register Now! Early birds can begin Instruction as early as July 27th Final Registration Deadline: July 8th Program Includes: 8 Hours of personal instruction including: - Up to 6 one-on-one coaching sessions/private lessons with Award-winning Vocalist Rachel Bade-McMurphy.  Work on your tone, general vocal technique, rhythm, diction, learn tunes, work on improvisation etc.  -2 Group Master class sessions discussing topics such as style, delivery, phrasing, performance technique, communication, improvisation, historical topics etc.  You'll meet and work with other singers and get a chance to try out these concepts. Application of performance technique with professional rhythm section:   - Dress Rehearsal/ practice session with band and written performance critique by experienced professionals -Final Performance with band in a local public venue Take-home resources: -Jazz Vocal Fakebook or Aebersold singalong recording and book to learn and practice new songs. Total Cost = $225 includes all sessions and materials.  Reduced Participation: $175 Experienced Level: Adult Singers (including College students) with previous Jazz Performance experience may qualify to join class on an abbreviated level.  Must have BOTH Jazz experience and public performance experience.  Must have a minimum repertoire of 5 Jazz songs prepared and ready for performance.  Curriculum will require only 2 private coaching sessions but will include all masterclass and performance sessions.  Audit Level: for singers new to jazz and/or singing, who may not be ready or willing to enter public performance.  Curriculum will include coaching sessions & Masterclasses.  Audit students will attend the dress rehearsal and final performance as observers rather than performers.  __________________________________________________________________________________________________ More Details How Does it work? Singers will schedule their individual sessions weekly June -August.  Each singer is guaranteed 4 sessions, but will get as many as 6 depending on need and availability. The Masterclass schedule will begin in Late July through early August.  The final performance is tentatively scheduled for Monday August 15th in the evening at a location TBA. When Do I Pay:  At registration you will have the option of paying in full in advance, or paying a $75 registration fee.  Final payment will be due at the second coaching session or by July 15th whichever comes first.  What if I am going on Vacation?  Since the schedule is set-up individually you should be able to get all your coaching sessions in as long as you are not gone more than 2-3 weeks.  It will be important that you discuss your schedule with teacher at registration.  Your schedule will be taken into consideration when making the Masterclasses schedule however not all conflicts can be avoided for group sessions.  What if I change my mind last minute about performing in public? All singers will be encouraged to perform at the final public performance on August 15th.  Those who have chosen to audit will need to make their decision before the dress rehearsal.  If a singer signed up to perform, but suddenly gets stage fright, the singer will be encouraged to continue through the program, however will not be required to perform if they do not feel that they are able.  What if I am not ready now, but really want to be involved?
